Welcome to the Original Johnson County Genealogy Page. This site was created by Mary Floy Katzman (obituary) and we miss her. Ruby Coleman and Basil McVey are the coordinators for these pages. We hope you enjoy them and that they are helpful in your research. We all have deep roots in Johnson County and surrounding areas, so our interest runs high here.

Johnson County Cousins are very generous in submitting just about every kind of information and without our cousins genealogy in Johnson County wouldn't be nearly as much fun. We try and bring a variety of information and hope you enjoy your visit to Johnson County.

Thanks to , one of our Johnson County cousins, we are very proud to add entertainment to these pages. Where you find a musical note, you will find music. The music featured isn't ordinary music, but recorded by musicians with strong ties to Johnson County and surrounding counties. Joe is the Executive Director of the National Council for the Traditional Arts and he put together the tape and CD from which these snipets of music are taken. There are 11 selections throughout these pages and some of them are original recordings. Please click here to find out how you can buy a copy of the CD featuring 15 songs recorded by G.B. Grayson and Henry Whitter as well as the CD by Frank Grayson. ENJOY!
