Pauline Brookshire, 93, formerly of Courtyard Apartments, 710 E. Second St., Elizabethton, died Tuesday, October 23, 2001 in the Hillview Health Care, Elizabethton, following an extended illness. She was a native of Johnson County, the daughter of the late James and Rhoda Hicks Lowe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Windom Porter Brookshire, July 14, 1983 and two brothers, Paul and Bill Lowe. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a retired employee of S.H. Kress & Co., after 19 years of service.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Wilkie and Carol Shell Brookshire, Elizabethton; one sister, Pansy Phipps, Powell, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Ronnie Brookshire, Nashville, Tennessee; John Brookshire, Johnson City; Christy Tyree, Hampton and Chris Brookshire, Sandpoint, Idaho; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Wyatt, Hunter, Remington and Curtis; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and interment will be conducted Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Brookshire Cemetery, Johnson County (Doeville Community) with her son, Rev. Wilkie Brookshire and Rev. Ron Owens officiating.
Active pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the graveside service.
Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton is in charge of the arrangements.
