Dealia Denny, 91, 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, passed away Friday morning in the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, North Carolina. She was a native of Johnson County, a daughter of the late William Elbert and Nora Turnmire Lipford and was a housewife. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Emmitt Lipford, Glen Lipford and Marvin Lipford; one sister, Mae Lipford Pope.
Survivors include one son, Wayne "Sammy" Lipford Burgaw, North Carolina; two sisters, Nell Lipford, Mountain City, Tennessee; Lorene Johnson, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; one uncle, John K. Turnmire, Sr.; two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 3, 2001 at 8 p.m. from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Baker officiating. Pallbearers were Lynn Courtney, Alan Lipford, Mark Lipford, Warren Lipford, Timmy Church and Blaine Lipford.
Honorary pallbearers were Sam Nelson, Glen Lipford Jr. and Billy Lipford.
Graveside services and interment were conducted Monday, June 4, 2001 at 10 a.m. from the Johnson Cemetery, Fall Branch Road, Mountain City, TN.
Henson Funeral was in charge of the arrangements.
