Cemeteries of Johnson County, Tennessee
Upon A Lonely Hill
The Cemeteries of Johnson County, Tennessee
by Jeffrey L. Carrier
This is a listing of the cemeteries that were indexed and published by Jeffrey L. Carrier with several not included in his book. The ones that are not listed by Carrier are marked with the "#" symbol. There are 313 known cemeteries (so far).
Included is the name of the cemetery and location. Tom Gentry said that Johnson County has more cemeteries than any other county in Tennessee with more being discovered. Some have only field stone markers with no names, initials or dates. Only two are perpetual care cemeteries, Sunset Memorial Park and Reece Memorial.
If you are not familiar with the area, its a good idea to have someone who is to guide you.
