  Services will be held at: 1:00 P.M. Sunday, APril 20, 2003

  Desmal Johnson, age 75, of 124 Robert Lefler Lane, Mountain City, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2003 at the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. Ms. Johnson was a native of Landgraff, West Virginia and was born on April 14, 1928 to the late Robert Russell and Sarah Bessie Quesenberry Lefler.

  She worked at Iron Mountain Stone Ware, Blue Ridge Shoe Company, and Johnson County Hospital. She loved raising exotic birds, guinea pigs, and small animals.

  Survivors: (3) Sisters: Iris "Bea" Williams, Mountain City, TN Christine Phillippi, Mountain City, TN Elsie Johnson, Mountain City, TN (1) Niece: Carolyn Johnson, Mountain City, TN (5) Nephews: Randy Harper, Bristol, VA David Phillippi, Mountain City, TN Jack Johnson, Mountain City, TN Johnny Johnson, Mountain City, TN Mike Johnson, Mountain City, TN (10) Great Nieces and Nephews (6) Great Great Nieces and Nephews Special Friend: Paul Foster, Mountain City, TN.

  Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Desmal Johnson will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, April 20, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home chapel with Mr.. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Burial will be in the Lefler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
