Carole Ann Thompson Gwinn, 57, 109 Pine Street, Mountain City, passed away Saturday, May 27 at the Johnson County Health Care Center. She was a native of Wilmington, Delaware, a daughter of the late Earl and Virginia Thompson. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and was a Special Education teacher for 14 years for the Johnson County School System and was a former employee of I.B., Inc., Boone, North Carolina.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Gwinn, Mountain City; three sons, Ronnie Gwinn, Manassas, Virginia; Charles and Robert Gwinn, both of Mountain City; one foster son, Charlie Furchess, Mountain City; one sister, Linda Harvey, Wilmington, Delaware; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 30 at 8 p.m. from the Chapel of Henson Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Pallbearers were Russell Barlow, Jimmy Anderson, Cress Snyder, Terry Baird, Dave Gwinn and Michael Kyte. Honorary pallbearers were Mike White, Steve Arnold and Larry Knipe.
Graveside services were conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Reece Memorial Cemetery.
Henson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
