  CAROLE ANN THOMPSON GWINN

  Carole Ann Thompson Gwinn, 57, 109 Pine Street, Mountain City, passed away Saturday, May 27 at the Johnson County Health Care Center. She was a native of Wilmington, Delaware, a daughter of the late Earl and Virginia Thompson. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and was a Special Education teacher for 14 years for the Johnson County School System and was a former employee of I.B., Inc., Boone, North Carolina.

  Survivors include her husband, Joseph Gwinn, Mountain City; three sons, Ronnie Gwinn, Manassas, Virginia; Charles and Robert Gwinn, both of Mountain City; one foster son, Charlie Furchess, Mountain City; one sister, Linda Harvey, Wilmington, Delaware; and five grandchildren.

  Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 30 at 8 p.m. from the Chapel of Henson Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Pallbearers were Russell Barlow, Jimmy Anderson, Cress Snyder, Terry Baird, Dave Gwinn and Michael Kyte. Honorary pallbearers were Mike White, Steve Arnold and Larry Knipe.

  Graveside services were conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Reece Memorial Cemetery.

  Henson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

  Arzella J. Johnson, 924 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, passed away Thursday morning at the Johnson County Health Center. She was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Arnt and Holly Snyder Greer. She was a charter member of the Mountain City Presbyterian Church and was a housewife. She was preceded in death by two brothers

  Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Adams and Billie McEwen, Mountain City, Tennessee; three brothers, Ray Greer, Butler, Tennessee; Ronda and Gene Greer, both of Mountain City, Tennessee; three sisters, Reba Sammons, Ancil Mahala and Louella Dowell, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; one grandson, Eric Hill, Mountain City, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Tonda McEwen, Richmond, Virginia; Susan McEwen Hayes, Chester, Virginia; two great-grandsons, Zachory Hill and Triston Hill, both of Mountain City, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 8 p.m. from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Swoager, Rev. Norm Reece and Rev. Frank Woods officiating.

  Graveside services and interment were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Reece Memorial Cemetery.

  DOROTHY FRANCES STANLEY

  Dorothy Frances Stanley, 66, 595 Hospital Hill Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2004 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born March 27, 1938 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, daughter of the late Mavis Viola Rainbolt and the granddaughter of the late Henry and Belvia Fletcher. In addition to her mother and grandparents, she was preceded in death by two infant brothers. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

  Survivors include her husband, Odell Stanley, of the home; one son, Retired Army Richard Stanley Sr. and wife Shelia, Columbia, South Carolina; two daughters, Glenda Miller and husband Ronald, Trade, Tennessee and Angela Roten and husband Jeff, Mountain City, Tennessee; two grandsons, Specialist Four Richard Stanley Jr., US Army of Fort Stewart, Georgia and Michael Stanley, Columbia, South Carolina; two sisters, Norma Jean Eldreth, Mountain City, Tennessee and Linda Hopkins, West Jefferson, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews and special friends Sarah Wickham and Linda Nye.

  Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 8 p.m. from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Norris officiating.

  Music will be under the direction of Lindsey DeBord.

  Graveside services and interment will be conducted Thursday, September 2, 2004 at 10 a.m. from the Reece Memorial Cemetery.

  Active pallbearers will be Dean Tester, Jerry Stanley, Chris Payne, Tony Stanley, Tom Stanley, Delmar Stanley, Wayne Lunceford and Allen Hopkins.

  Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Raina Sluder and the members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad.

  Memorials may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
