LAUREL BLOOMERY, Tenn. -- Mr. Roy Widener, 87, of 164 Roy Widener Road passed away Saturday, May 4, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon. He was a native of Johnson County and a son of the late Silas and Ella Mae Greer Widener. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Claude, Willis and Paul Widener; and by a sister, Janice Widener. He was a farmer and a member of State Line Baptist Church.

Survivors are one sister, Imogene Brooks of Greeneville, Tenn.; two brothers, Wayne and Blaine Widener, both of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2002, from the chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Derl McCloud officiating. Pallbearers will be friends. Interment will follow in Stateline Cemetery. Floral offerings will be accepted or memorials may be made to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

RUBY WILSON YORK

Ruby Wilson York, 88, 919 Medical Park Drive, formerly of Route 1, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, passed away Monday, May 22, 2000 in the Mountain City Care Center. She was a native of Washington County, Virginia but had made her home in Johnson County most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul York, a daughter of the late Emitt and Annie Gentry Wilson. She was a homemaker and attended the Pleasant Home Baptist Church. Survivors include a nephew, James Wilson, Redondo Beach, California; two great-nephews and several cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 24, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Rev. Derl McCloud officiating. Interment followed in the Stateline Cemetery, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee. Memorials may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad.

Henson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
