[W. Robert Sturgill was the son of George Henry Sturgill, (a Blacksmith and native of North Carolina), and his wife Nancy J. Howard (native of Virginia). Robert was born in North Carolina, and is enumerated in the 1900 Census Johnson Co TN, 3rd District, # 76d Robert 15 NC NC VA.
Robert’s parents are buried in Shingletown, where they probably moved following the timbering industry.]
