Suffering from a stroke, she had been in poor health for several years; having been almost bedfast for over a year and confined to her room, bearing her afflictions and pain with the greatest of courage and humbleness. Mrs. Shores was born October 2, 1878 making her stay on this earth 69 years two months and 13 days. She was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Maggard of Cumberland. In later years she was married to Clinton Shores of Wise, Virginia. Mrs. Shores became a member of the Mayking Regular Baptist Church a number of years ago and would always attend services when she was able and was a very faitful member until death. During her long illness she would send for Brother Bennet Adams and Dave Sheppard who would hold services at her home which she would always enjoy and grow very happy indeed telling them she longed to be with her savior and loved ones who had preceded her in death. Mrs. Shores was a good wife, a loving mother and an excellent neighbor. She loved all her friends and neighbors and everyone was welcome in her home. She will be missed by all. In her last hours she called her children to her bedside and asked them to prepare to meet her in Heaven and told them to take care of dad and be good to Little Faye. In her passing she leaves her husband and the following children: Mrs. Ida Stamper and Lerria Miller, of Frankfort, Roy and Mae Adams, Sergent, Earl of Berkley Springs, West Va., Bonnie at home. Also she leaves to three sisters, Francis Hall, Ermine Ky., Susan Polly, Frankfort, and Mrs. Mannie Gibbs of Cumberland,.
