Richard Taylor married Sarah J. Blair JCT 26 Jun 1876 by Godfrey D. Curd, M. G. Report of Delinquent Taxpayers (http://jctcuzins.com/ruby/JCTcourt1.html) shows that Richard Taylor of the 3rd District was dead in 1877. It appears that Sarah's husband died within a year of their marriage and about the same time their son was born. She had two more sons after Richard's death (father unknown), and she moved to Glasgow, Montana about 1907. The Yeltons moved to the 3rd District in 1876. They were from Watauga Co NC, although they lived in Caldwell Co NC from about 1861 to about 1871. See History of Johnson County, 1986, article # 264.

There are two households # 67. 67* represents the 2nd of these, which Tom Gentry numbers 67a. Since lower-case letters are used in this annotation to denote members of a household as enumerated, the substitution of the asterick is used to prevent confusion. Unclear why Martha is listed here as a Woodard, and yet daughter, age 14. BK6 notes reference Isaiah and Mahala being childless all these years and questioning if Martha is their daughter or adopted. She is listed as Martha A. J. Curd in 1870, and as Martha Woodard in 1880. This listing uses the earliest form of her name pending identification. Unclear why John Sherman Dunn would be living in this household, away from both of his parents (who were not married to each other).

It appears both letters are easily confused by transcribers. In this case, the "L" form is preferred in order to distinguish between her and a later Margaret S. Fulk, pending additional proof contrary to the "L" usage. It also appears that Adam was born before the wedding. He is listed as the son of both William and Margaret pending proof to the contrary. Household enumerated 1860 JCT 9th # 55; 1870 JCT 9th # 43. Mary's parents have not been determined. She is the right age to be a daughter of John O. Potter of Sutherland, Ashe Co NC. Daughter Hannah Lousa Main(s)' death record indicates her parents were J. C. Mains & Polly Potter. If microfilm shows William listed as nephew, then this will provide sufficient proof to list Mary tenuously as John O. Potter's daughter. The Main usage is used in this document, but many records use the form Mains. It appears to be a transitional usage, similar to Arrendell/Arnold and Hodgson/Hodges/Hodge.

Timothy's mother has erroneously been reported to be Mary Ann Arnold, who was the 2nd wife of Solomon Price. Solomon didn't marry Mary Ann Arnold until 1858, fully 10 years after Timothy's birth. Timothy Price married Margaret Osborne in 1872. Household appears to have moved to the 3rd District between 1874 and 1876. If Alfred H. Price is the same individual as Alfred S. Price, buried in the Price Cemetery, then his tombstone is in error, as the tombstone says b. 1866 and clearly the census suggests about 1876.

Unsure which is correct, so both remain as copied until this is sorted out. Family is enumerated in the 2nd District in 1870. For some reason, James W., Wiley H., and Martha E. are listed in this household as Kemps, stepchildren yet they are enumerated in 1870 as the children of Thomas and Lydia. The only logical explanation is that Lydia was born or married to a Kemp and had the children before marrying Thomas. They are not Sarah's children.
