Bastardy Bond - Arender Baker and Anthony Tate

Know all men by these presents that we Anthony Tate, Benjamin Greer and Thomas Low of the County of Wilkes and state of North Carolina are hald and firmly Bound unto Benjamin Cleaveland Justice of the Coty [sic] of Wilkes and his sucessors in the full and Just sum of One hundred pounds Current money of said State to be paid to the said Benjamin Cleveland and his successors, to which payment well and truly to be made and we Bind ourselves our Heirs Exrs and Administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated this Eleventh Day of December 1772.

The Condition of the above obligation is such that Whereas the above Bound Anthony Tate - stands charged with A Bastard Child Begotten on A Certain Arender Baker -- now if the said Anthony Tate do will & truly Indemnify the County by maintaining the said Child and keeping it from becoming Chargeable to said County then this obligation to be void otherwise to Remain in full force and Virtue.
