State of North Carolina} Ashe County} Know all men by these presents that we William Greer, and Jesse Price are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the sum of five hundred Dollars current money for which payment will and truly to be made, we bind ourselves our heirs, Executors & administrators, jointly Signed, dated, this 24th day of Novbr 1845. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounded William Greer is charged with being the father of Bastard Child on the Body of Rebecca Price now if the Said William Greer Shall provide for said Child so that it Shall not become Chargeable to the County & that he Shall Stand by and abide by the Judgment, Sentance & Decree of the Court then the above obligation to be void otherwise to Remain in full force & Virtue.
