My dear friend I recieved your most kind and welcome letter this eve and was glad to hear from you. We are both well at preasant and the folks at home are well. We are a haveing some pretty coald weather here now. I havent bin to any Parties this winter there is going to be one the 14th I daunt know whether I will go or not but if it is

PETER SHOUN is staying with Father this winter he was in Jail 10 day's for killing a man but proaved him self clear I hear that he is going to sue for damage I guess he will make it pretty warm for the men that had him arrested. Oh yes you wanted to know if WES SHOUN and his wife were living to geather they are not and havent

[page 3] since we come to Dak how is LIZA HACKDY getting along does she stay at home or what is she doing I would like to her from her I want you to write tell me how AUNT LINDA is getting along we havent heard from her in along time I would like to know how & she is getting along sence the girls are all married. times are pretty hard here but I daunt know of any one going hungry I was home last night and stayed all night but Father and mother was not to home Father has gone to Rapid City Oh yes you wanted to know

[page 4] where ELBERT SHOUN was I daunt know where he is staying this winter I havent saw him my self for two years but I guess he is alwright. He stayed at ED MILLERS last winter and He may be there this winter I daunt know we daunt live close to them. Well how is my little friend ALICE SHOUN getting along I havent heard from her in along time maby she is'nt stuck on wrighting to married Ladies and is WINNIE SHOUN married yet.
