Mary M. Roberts Eggers, in the middle. She was born June 1857, daughter of Richard Alexander Roberts and Parlee Louisa Rambo. She married William L. "Will" Eggers. He was the son of a Hugh Eggers, supposedly disappeared and nobody knew where he went. Some records show Mary was divorced and others that she was widowed. She died 1 September 1921 in Johnson Co., TN.
The girls beside her were daughters known affectionately to people in Johnson County and relatives elsewhere, as "Min and Ret." Minnie Bell "Min" Eggers is on the left. She was born 15 March 1886 and died 25 Nov. 1960, married William Tyler Roberts; had no children. Sarah Loretta "Ret" Eggers is on the right. She was born 12 August 1880 and died in 1963. She never married. Min and Ret lived together in later years in the old Richard Alexander Roberts home in Slabtown.
Mary M. Roberts Eggers also had three sons. Her twins were Alexander Clayton "Tuck" Eggers and Hugh Clay "Bob" Eggers. Son, John Luther Eggers was born in 1884 and died in 1891.
