Mary Augustus FREEMAN Curd

  

This is my great grandmother Mary Augustus Freeman (Fremon) Curd. Her father was Augustus Freeman of Virginia. She married Richard Franklin Curd of the third district of Johnson County-Forge Creek.

Her mother is yet unknown, but may be 'Annie' who died in the Staunton Hospital in Marion Va.

Mary also went by the name Polly Ann or Mary Ann Curd. She is buried in the Dunn Cemetery in Forge Creek.

According to family legend she was kidnapped by Thomas and Lydia Ann Osborne Potter of Virginia and was raised in Johnson County. (I have my doubts about the kidnapping.)
