General George Washington Gentry
and
Carnassie/Cornefie/Carrie (Sis) Gentry

General George Washington Gentry was born 29 July 1852 and died 19 April 1938. He was a son of William Gentry and Mary (Polly Greer). He was born in Ashe Co., NC is buried in the Woodford Community Cemetery, Elk Township, Ashe County, North Carolina, as are William and Mary Greer Gentry.

On 24 April 1880 in Johnson Co., Tennessee he married Carnassie/Cornefie/Carrie (Sis) Gentry. She was a daughter of General Washington Gentry and Eliza Ann Rambo, who lived in Johnson County, Tennessee. Sis Gentry is also buried in the Woodford Community Cemetery.

I'm sure I don't have the names of all their children, but I do have these from the 1880 Ashe Co., NC Census:

(1) Jesse G.R.F. Gentry b. abt 1872 in Tennessee
(2) Lillie Gentry 1880 - 1946. Buried Woodford Community Cemetery, Elk Township, Ashe County, North Carolina.
(3) Lillard F. Gentry, 12 October 1882 - 12 Oct 1929. Buried in the Woodford Community Cemetery, Elk Township, Ashe County, North Carolina.
