Mrs. Gilly & Son

I bought this postcard in Mountain City, Tennessee in an antique store. The owner told me it was among pictures she bought when the Butler House was sold a few years ago. Written on the back is "Mrs. Gilly".

Update March 22, 2005 from Debby Dyer Neves:
William Kendrick Donnelly had a daughter Virginia who married James Shaler Gilly 9 February 1908. I do not have a listing in my data of a son. I guess it could be the above James and his mother. I am not that good regarding period dress. I believe that James Gilly was from Shulls Mill, NC.
It is a small world, years ago I worked with James and Virginia Donnelly Gilly's daughter, Ruth Gilly Smith, who was a Reading Specialist in Jackson County, NC. We worked together for a year before we knew we were Johnson County Cuzins.
