John Martin Greenwell was born on September 12, 1871 and died July 3, 1938. He was the son of Howard Martin Greenwell (born about 1834 in Wilkes, North Carolina) and Agness A. Dugger (birth is thought to be about 1837). John was raised by John and Jane Cable. John Martin Greenwell was a grist mill worker and farmer. He and his wife Elmina Dugger had 15 children.
