Joshua W. Nichols
Joshua W. Nichols was born 1 February 1892 in Mountain City, TN, son of Reuben F. Nichols and Rachell Rebecka Tribble. Joshua married 1st Lura O. (Octavia?) Parsons, born 18 November 1893, in Showns, Johnson Co., TN and died 9 November 1911. She is buried in the Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain City, TN. She was a daughter of John Roby Parsons (1871-1950) and Naomi Diana Ellen Osborne (1871-1959). John and Lura had one daughter, Nona Marie Nichols born 17 September 1911 in Mountain City and died 15 February 1980 in Billings, Montana.
Nona was raised by her grandparents, John and Naomi Osborne Parsons after the death her mother.
Joshua came to Montana about 1913 with Kemp Parsons where they went to fight fires in the Tobacco Root Mountains. Kemp was overcome by smoke and died in Bozeman. Joshua return to Mountain City shortly after that where he married 2nd Elzina (Nichols). Joshua and Elzina had one daughter, Nelia Irene "Kathryn" Nicols born 9 September 1918. She married Mosell Harless 17 March 1935. She died 11 June 1981 in Tampa, Florida.
Joshua Nichols died, 22 December 1918 in Mountain City and is buried next to his first wife, Laura in the Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain City, TN. His cause of death is unknown.
