James Russell Trivette and Estie Grace Gentry

James Russell Trivette (1905-1970) was born to William Franklin Trivette (1872-1945) and Irena Alifair Shores (1876-1925) in Trade, Tennessee. Russ completed 5th grade and had several occupations. He was a salesman in 1940, He was a working as a laborer at a furniture factor in 1930. In the 1940’s he became a taxi driver in Mountain City. He continued to drive a taxi in Mountain City until his death.

He married Estie Grace Gentry (1909-1956) around 1930. She was from Mountain City, born to James S. Gentry (1879-1965) and Hattie Jessie Henson (1886-1977)
The couple had five children together:
Justine Eugene Trivette (1931-1991)
James Erette Trivette, Sr. (1933-2018).
Ernest Barton Trivette (1936-2001)
Bernest Martin Trivette (1936-2011)
Eva Sue Trivette (1939)
The couple divorced and October 31, 1946 Estie married I. T. Bailey in Mountain City, Tennessee.
I.T. Bailey and Estie had one child – Norman Jean Bailey (1949)
Estie developed breast cancer in the early 1950’s and she died at an early age even after treatment at the Cleveland Clinic.
August 6, 1949, Russ Trivette was driving a taxi in Mountain City and struck Will Greever. The accident happened on Church Street in Mountain City. Will Greever was taken the Appalachian Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee where is was found to have a fractured hip and arm.
In 1956 Russ married Goldie Dowell (1933-2022) she was the daughter of Sherman General Dowell and Lizzie Potter.
Russ and Goldie had one son – Ralph Russell Trivette (1953-1976). Ralph was shot and died of a shot gun blast to the next at the age of 23. Clyde Beaver was arrested for the murder.
Russ died of renal failure at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
Russ, Estie, Ralph, Goldie and I.T. Bailey were all interred at the Phillipi Cemetery.
