Wallace and Wilson Families

Remembering my Wallace and Wilson family. My great grandpa talked about his father Elkana Wallace who joined the 13th Calvary in the Civil war soon after grandpa was born
I had an amazing restoration of this photo from this celebration in July 1962 Grandpa James Hamilton Wallace was 100 that year.
Only 5 of us remain David Pardue, Wallace Martin, JudyWilson Wallace,
Marlene Wilson Coffey, and me (Nancy Salazar) in the center. Wish we could identify each one.
My brother remarked how Grandpa was an amazing man. He chopped wood til he was aged 90s. He taught us alphabet and numbers before we went to school. We had a garden we ate and gathered food to can all summer long. We didn’t go to the doctor much. I don’t remember my grandpa Joe or my greatgrandpa ever went much of anywhere except on a ride with my uncles up the Blue Ridge Parkway or to Grandfather Mountain in the summertime. My mother still has cousins living in Ashe Co and TN in their 90s. They hardly ever get sick or take any meds.
